Our Merry Merry Christmas Blog/Card
Merry Christmas to all.
We love you all and miss many of you and are happy we have lost contact with the rest of you, but here is our internet Christmas blog Card. Merry Christmas.
Karen, David, Connor, Samantha, Dillon and our little Cody.
(Every year I write a "Bad Christmas Poem", it is very sing songy and child like but I still do it and I enjoy it. This year I took a silly stab at a The Night Before Christmas. My deepest apologies to the author. If you don't get the reference to the "mouse" please feel free to embarrassed Karen by asking.)
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through our house
Not a creature was stirring, not even that Quebecois mouse
The stockings Mom made were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that Santa Clause soon would be there;
Our three children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of video games danced in their heads;
And Karen in her flannels, and I in my PJ’s,
Had just settled down for a Christmas eve nap,
When deep in our hearts there arose such a clatter,
We sat up in bed we both knew what was the matter.
Away to the kids rooms we flew like a flash,
Tore open the doors after opening the latch.
We read from the bible from long long ago
About a lady named Mary and her hubby named Joe.
How a baby named Jesus was born on that evening
And how Sheppard’s and wise man visited him before leaving.
How the baby who harked the heralded angels in song,
As they praised him in awe of his deeds know for long
How our family could be eternal and saved from our wrongs
If we would just follow the star and the dear babies song.
We could be happy only because he was willing to pay.
With the message he brought and the sacrifice he laid,
Spoke volumes and volumes of his love for us all.
He watches over us, loves us and knows what to call.
Now David and Karen love Sammie and Connor and Dillon
To the ends of the earth and the end of all time.
Don’t dash away your love on trinkets in kind.
We must take good care of our family everyday.
Don’t take a day off to just fiddle or play.
For life means but nothing without our family nearby
Now there will be times of hardship and drama on high,
but at the end of the day, when you knee down in family pray,
remember who you are and thank God for that day.
We almost forgot about Santa and his way,
Till we saw him pull out with his reindeer and sleigh.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
Christmas is all about that baby and celebrating that night.
Merry Christmas to all :)
